Overview[]
The Brine is an aquatic dimension and is home to the Nereids as well as many other species. It is a brewing dimension, meaning potions instantly brew here when looked at, and as a bonus, brewing stands don't consume fuel when you do this. There is also a great slew of potion-related items in some of the chests of the structures. Materials can be gathered here to brew custom potions that can only be made here. Travelling past the bottom of the water in The Brine leads you into The Void. The Brine was one of the dimensions whose world height has been altered as of Update #37, and is now 512 blocks tall.
A portal to the Brine.
To enter the Brine, you must find an ancient portal structure in a deep ocean in the overworld. Wherever you enter the portal a structure to return back to the Overworld will appear in the Brine.
Structures[]
A typical giant sponge building
-The beach biome has a giant sponge building. The building mostly has potion-based loot, although you are able to find a brine key, a Returning Tides book, or very rarely, the Tetra Slime ability book.
A typical jellyfish structure
-The fungus biome has jellyfish structures. Inside the center of the jellyfish are honey blocks and a yellow shulker box full of simple loot.
A typical giant coral fan
-The giant coral fan only exists in the Blossom Reef biome and harbors an ender chest as well as an active conduit to return to the overworld if need be.
-The beached pirate ship is a structure that can be found in the Beach biome and includes several types of hostile mobs. The mobs include the following:
The beached pirate ship
- Pirate Gunners: pillagers that spawn equipped with crossbows loaded with fireworks rockets.
- Pirate Deckhand: vindicators granted the haste effect and armed with netherite axes.
- Pirate Lookout: An illusioner perched at the very top of the ship. Grants players blindness when difficulty is set to hard.
- Pirate Captain: A vindicator miniboss armed with 3 totems of undying and an iron sword with sharpness x5, fire aspect x2, looting x1, unbreaking x3, and mending x1. The minboss also experiences the strength, resistance, regeneration, and speed potion effects, temporarily lasting for 5 minutes after the structure generates.
The Sunken Ship can be found in both the Indigo Median and Blackwater Depths biomes that are similar to the beached pirate ship, except completely abandoned and submerged underwater.
a typical starfish
The Giant Starfish structure spawns onshore in the Sugar Sand Beach biome. As its name suggests, it is a giant starfish.
A typical respawn fruit
The Respawn Fruit structure spawns deep with the depths of the Indigo Median biome. It is made of pink coral and mangrove roots. It has a pit inside that contains a respawn anchor.
A typical Megalodon tooth
The Megalodon Tooth structure spawns mostly above sea level or close to sea level in the revered waters biome. It is made of a mixture of polished blackstone, blackstone, obsidian, and crying obsidian.
A typical glass elver
The Glass Elver structure spawns below the surface in the kelp cove biome. It's made of white glass, frog-lights and terracotta. It is also very long.
A typical fungus-covered crab
The Fungus-covered crab structure can be found in the incursive fungus biome. It resembles a cute little crab covered in mushrooms. This may be a reference to the Pokémon Paras, although this is unconfirmed.
The Realmkeeper Station is found in the Keeper District biome. It emits a strong weakness effect, making most combat near impossible. At the top of the structure is the Heart which gives off the weakness effect. There are also three potion ingredients here. The Essence of Infinity & Eternity, and Sentinel Rings.
Biomes[]
The Sugar Sand Beach biome on the surface contains sand. On the surface you may find the giant brine star fish structure. Below the surface, it contains some sea life. You can also find the giant sponge structure. This biome has some similarities to the Dead Reef.
The Incursive Fungus biome on the surface contains mycelium and mushrooms. Below the surface, it contains loads of kelp, dirt and prismarine. You can also find nether gold ore below sea level. You can find jellyfish structures below the surface and fungus covered crabs onshore. Cordyceps Powder is found here as well, in the large mushroom structures.
The Blossom Reef biome on the surface contains gravel and warped nether wart blocks. Below the surface, it contains loads of coral, sea pickles, and sea life. You can also find the giant coral fan structure in this biome. The biome's potion ingredient is Tempest Nectar, obtainable from the flowers that are on the surface of the water.
The Keeper District biome is similar to that of Pax's Autumn Idyll biome, however it has much less wheat, and more water. Although lacking any potion ingredients in the biome, it houses a structure called the Realmkeeper Station, which has three very useful potion ingredients.
The Blackwater Depths biome is a subterranean void biome that is mostly featureless except the sky, water, fog, grass, and foliage colored deep black. Void Petals can be found in the Voidflowers here, and Voidfish Venom can be obtained from the fish.
The Indigo Median biome serves as a transitional biome before reaching the Blackwater Depths biome. You can find the respawn fruit structure in this biome. Watch out for the custom Dunkleosteus mob, as it is a fast, strong, and high health fish that will attack you on sight.
The Kelp Cove biome stays true to its name and contains enormous amounts of kelp. It also features mangrove trees, mud, and sponges onshore. Below shore you can also find the Glass Elver structure.
The Dead Reef biome contains lots of dead coral on and offshore. Bobbit worms will come out of the sand and attack you, they drop worm mandibles which can be used to make haste potions.
The Sponge Ranch biome is home to copious amounts of sponges.
The Revered Waters biome is covered in red sand and may become home to a new boss in future updates. You can also find the Megalodon tooth structure in this biome. Many guardians spawn here. The Gavsakka here will drop wither fins when defeated, however they are hostile and quite strong.
Lore[]
The Brine is an aquatic dimension and is home to many species including the Nereids. Nereids are the sea-folk that inhabit the Brine, and swim frequently together in packs throughout the waters. Nereids tend to possess a strong affinity for exploration and adventure, and are very family oriented. Realmkeepers are also currently attempting to acquire brine territory.
